Exempt Position Summary:
The Director of Human Resources will run the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including payroll administration, benefits administration, and leave administration, and enforcing company policies and practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and partners closely to address the organization's human resource needs, including benefit programs, employee engagement, wellness initiatives, optimization of HRIS tools, and collaboration with accounting on payroll-related matters.
Provides support and guidance to HR team members, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodation, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
Manages the payroll administration process semi-monthly, including verifying accuracy on the payroll registers, verifying proper deductions for employees, and working directly with the payroll provider on any issues
Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
Manages benefits administration to include new hire enrollment and open enrollment, partners with brokers on communicating legal documents to participants, process QLE's, benefit reconciliations, and strategizing new ways to promote our benefits and wellness programs
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Manage confidential information.
The ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of Management
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Requirements for Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
A minimum of five years of human resource management experience is preferred.
Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
