Job Summary:
The Engineering Technician performs diverse and complex assignments in support of product development and testing. This role involves setting up and running data acquisition equipment, conducting experiments, troubleshooting technical issues, and documenting test results. The ideal candidate will use independent judgment to contribute to the evaluation and improvement of products, systems, and processes, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and functionality.
Key Responsibilities: Set up, operate, and maintain data acquisition and test equipment for product evaluation. Conduct experiments, diagnostic tests, and troubleshooting activities to identify root causes and develop corrective actions. Construct and assist in evaluating engineering models using technical expertise and analytical skills. Perform hardware and software evaluations, and implement plans to enhance system performance and reliability. Interpret and document test data, malfunctions, and deviations to assist in design or process improvements. Provide technical feedback on internal and external documentation for engineering, manufacturing, or service teams. Support the development and execution of training plans as required. Utilize technical communication to improve design functionality and serviceability throughout the product life cycle. Collaborate effectively with engineering teams to achieve project and organizational goals. Required Skills:
Strong troubleshooting skills at subsystem and system levels. Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data and make recommendations for improvement. Competence in using computerized work systems and test instrumentation. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interpret technical documentation and apply it to testing and troubleshooting activities. Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking. Team-oriented with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Education:
Associate Degree required, or High School Diploma with at least 2 years of relevant technical experience.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in a product development or R&D environment. Familiarity with data acquisition systems and engineering test procedures. Understanding of software and hardware integration principles.
