Coordinates patient care services, workflow and activities provided by nursing and support staff in a healthcare clinic setting by providing guidance, support and directions to ensure consistent provision of quality patient care in consideration of the diverse physical, emotional, spiritual and socio-economic needs and beliefs of families and the community in accordance with all Tribal, state, federal and licensing standards and guidelines
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develops and monitors daily staffing levels making adjustments as necessary, makes daily assignments and monitors time records including leave requests and lunch and break time Assists in development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal, state, licensing and regulatory requirements and practices Develops and maintains effective working partnerships with physicians by facilitating appropriate involvement in departmental planning and operations to ensure a collaborative work environment Coordinates patient placement, flow and/or assessment including chart reviews, prioritizing patients by severity, placing patients with requested providers, monitoring charts lab work and radiology tests and updates patients regarding waiting times Serves as clinical role model, advocate and resource to staff, patients and families Develops staffing schedules and supervises work activities of assigned staff to ensure achievement of established goals, objectives and outcomes and assists with performance evaluations Provides guidance, mentoring and direction for ongoing staff development Performs assessment, intervention, treatment, evaluation and referral as appropriate Provides age appropriate nursing care to the episodic, urgent, emergent, acute and/or chronically ill or injured t in a clinic setting Provides patient with information and education materials regarding health issues Actively participates in a variety of annual health fairs, vision/hearing checks, immunization clinics and wellness screening programs Acts as an advocate to community and other interested parties to increase awareness and understanding of clinic objectives, services and goals Assists with investigations and follows up on staff and/or patient complaints to ensure timely response and/or appropriate resolution to concerns/issues. Oversees staff competency assessments; documents observations and results; identifies areas of deficiencies Participates in a variety of quality improvement programs by monitoring patient charts, testing processes and validating accuracy of patient documentation both electronic and hardcopy. Orients staff to clinic policies, procedures and standards to ensure understanding and familiarity in accordance with established requirements and regulations Collects and compiles monthly statistical measures; prepares related operational and statistical reports for management to assist in decision making Participates in departmental orientation, on the job training and quality improvement programs/initiatives Participates in a variety of department and hospital educational programs to maintain current skills and competency levels; identifies and discusses performance or training needs with Chief Nursing Officer Performs all duties of Registered Nurse as needed due to staffing needs Actively participates/assists during code situations as directed Performs all other job related activities as requested\required Requirements
At least 5 years of progressive clinical nursing and managerial experience Bachelor's Degree of Nursing, MSN preferred Current and active state unrestricted RN license, Arizona state license preferred BLS and ACLS certifications required
