Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/03/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, evenings Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a WA or compact RN license and strong ED background for a high-acuity, trauma setting. Responsibilities Work in a Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department Care for patients across the lifespan, from pediatrics to geriatrics, including high acuity trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, mental health, and more Department has 60 beds, with 21 inpatient holding beds, 2 psych rooms, and 14 hall spaces Average daily census is 140-150 patients Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, flexing to 1:5 for low acuity 12-hour mid shifts available (1100-2300 or 1300-0100); schedule may include various day, night, or mid shifts in 6-week blocks Every other weekend rotation required No floating required No on-call responsibilities Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication system, and central/bedside telemetry at nurses' station Support available from ER techs, charge nurse (rarely has assignment), resource/float nurses, 24/7 RT, pharmacy, security, house supervisor, and ED educator Orientation includes first day NEO, EPIC training if needed, and 3-4 shifts with a preceptor Professional scrub attire in any color permitted; piercings must be modest, and tattoos non-offensive Free designated parking available Team-oriented, fast-paced, and traveler-friendly environment where many travelers choose to extend Up to 5 days of requested time off can be accommodated Required to work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required Minimum 1 year of strong Emergency Department experience Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB Must pass Traveler Telemetry Competency Exam prior to start Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, ED medication administration (including cardiac drips), procedural sedation, and blood administration Epic EMR experience preferred First-time travelers are not accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-618578.
