Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/17/2025 Duration: 14 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a Level III Trauma Center assignment requiring a WA or compact RN license and at least two years of emergency department experience. Responsibilities Work in a 46-bed Emergency Department within a Level III Trauma Center Serve a diverse patient population from pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma, STEMI, sepsis, stroke, DKA, and adult psychiatric patients Average of 200 patients per day with high geriatric acuity and occasional pediatric cases (transferred when needed) Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5 based on acuity and staffing levels Utilize Epic EMR, Alaris, Pyxis, and both central and bedside telemetry monitoring (no tele tech support) 12-hour mid and night shifts; potential for day/mid and night/mid shifts with advance notice Weekend requirements vary according to unit needs No floating or on-call responsibilities Holiday coverage required for 2 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with support from 24/7 ER techs, charge nurse, resource/float nurse, respiratory therapy, educator, security, house supervisor, social work, and pharmacy Orientation includes badge access, Epic training if needed, education on mental health, and a 12-hour precepted shift Scrub color is flexible with professional appearance required; modest piercings and non-offensive tattoos permitted Free parking available in designated areas Traveler-friendly culture with many travelers choosing to extend contracts First-time travelers are welcome to apply Schedule released in 3-week blocks approximately 10 days in advance Time off requests must be approved by Nurse Manager Requirements Active WA or compact state RN license required (may submit with proof of pending license) Minimum 2 years recent ED experience required Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms, perform IV insertions, procedural sedation, blood administration, and basic ED medication administration EPIC charting experience preferred Must pass a Traveler Telemetry Competency exam prior to start Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-620059.
