Seeking an experienced, detail-oriented
Full-Charge Bookkeeper
to manage the full spectrum of bookkeeping and financial tasks in our high-activity accounting department. The ideal
candidate will have significant experience in law firm or CPA firm accounting
, is proficient with QuickBooks, and can multitask effectively in a busy, deadline-driven environment. Experience with
Clio
or other legal billing/accounting platforms is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and perform full-cycle bookkeeping:
Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger
, and bank/credit card reconciliations
Manage payroll, benefits, and related journal entries
Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and custom reports for firm leadership
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Oversee and support billing, client trust accounting
Reconcile and monitor trust accounts and client ledgers
Interface with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to verify billable hours, client charges, and expense entries
Ensure billing systems and accounting systems integrate properly (e.g. Clio → QuickBooks or similar)
Work with external CPA / tax professionals for year-end closing, audits, and tax filings
Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records
Assist with ad hoc projects, process improvements, and special financial requests
Required Qualifications & Skills
5+ years of recent full-charge bookkeeping / accounting experience (ideally in a law firm or professional services environment)
Proficiency in
QuickBooks
(Online and/or Desktop)
Experience with legal billing / case management / trust accounting software (Clio experience is a strong plus)
Strong knowledge of GAAP, bookkeeping principles, and internal controls
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
