Key Responsibilities Conduct dimensional and visual inspections of gears, shafts, gearboxes, and other drivetrain components using appropriate measuring tools and instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMM). Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Document inspection results accurately in inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and other quality records. Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to communicate inspection findings and resolve issues. Maintain inspection equipment, tools, and calibration records in good working order. Assist in identifying quality trends and contributing to root cause analysis and corrective actions. Support audits and customer inspections as required. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety and quality standards. Qualifications High school diploma or technical certificate required; associate degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Manufacturing Technology . 2 years of experience in mechanical inspection or quality control in a manufacturing environment, preferably with drivetrain, automotive, or precision-machined components. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and engineering specifications. Proficient in the use of standard inspection tools and equipment; experience with CMM is a strong plus. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Basic computer skills (MS Excel, QMS or ERP systems). Skills Familiarity with gear inspection processes, including lead, profile, and runout measurements. Experience with ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 quality systems. Good written and verbal communication skills.
