The Work You Will Do Survey Title and Documents Specialist I
This position will review and analyze title search reports, prepare right of way documentation, ensure legal and mapping accuracy, and provide technical guidance on title and property issues.

Where You Will Work District Survey and Mapping Office 1074 Highway 90 Chipley, FL 32428
Your Specific Responsibilities • Evaluate, review, and analyze title search reports for accuracy and compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. • Assemble right of way packages for delivery to Right of Way Administration, including marked right of way maps, acquisition documents, title search reports, and transmittal letters. • Provide technical title and mapping assistance to Title and Documents Technicians. • Review and compose real property legal descriptions for incorporation into instruments of conveyance for required right of way parcels, ensuring the needed right of way is completely and accurately described in a manner consistent with acceptable surveying practice. • Ensure parent tract properties of take areas are accurately depicted on the right of way map. • Check that all easements identified in the title search reports that lie within take areas are properly depicted on the right of way map. • Prepare Parcel Information Sheets from analysis to title search reports and acquisition take areas. • Enter parcel number, ownership, and property interest data into the Right of Way Management System (RWMS). • Research public records to determine parcel ownership and any associated encumbrances for complex parcels. • Perform Quality Assurance Reviews of submitted title searches for donations and easement exchanges. • Assist the section supervisor in providing technical direction and guidance to the Offices of Legal, Right of Way, Design, Construction, Maintenance, consultants, and title companies, with regards to title and mapping matters. • Attend meetings with consultants, Department staff, and other governmental agencies to discuss and resolve title issues on surveying & mapping projects to achieve a quality end product and meet project schedules.
The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge Of
Florida Title and Real Estate law, regulations, principles, practices, and public records organizations.
Public records recording systems, title transfers, probate requirements, title subordinations, and property documents of conveyance.
Principles and techniques of effective written and verbal communication.
Skills In
Operating computers and working with Microsoft Office software and title search software.
Prioritizing work and managing projects.
Analyzing and reviewing advanced legal documents, maps and other public records.
Ability To
Establish and maintain successful working relationships, work effectively as a team member, and effectively interact with the general public.
Work independently.
Maintain organized files, records, and electronic media.
Licensure/Registration/Certification Requirements None specified.

Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in any of the following: 1) right-of-way administration, 2) abstract and title work, or 3) as a real estate agent.
