Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Person - Receiving to join the Pass and Seymour Team in Concord, NC. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day flow of material on the receiving dock. You will coordinate employee activities for entering material receipts, preparing intercompany shipments, entering inventory transactions, and assisting other inventory control departments. This position is accountable for reporting departmental progress, ensuring accurate information flow, and promoting continuous improvement within the team.
Responsibilities
Coordinate employees in carrying out departmental tasks and initiatives
Communicate manager/supervisor updates, changes, and directives to departmental staff
Identify workflow issues and recommend improvements
Address employee questions and concerns
Resolve day-to-day operational challenges
Escalate complex issues to management as needed
Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and procedures
Receive, unpack and examine goods shipped to establishment and verify completeness of shipments against bills of lading, invoices or POs
Keep records of goods shipped and received. Route incoming goods to departments. Ship material from establishment
Load and unload trailers on receiving dock
Receive shipments from outside suppliers
Reconcile product and quantity to manifest
Route incoming products to designated departments
Prepare products for shipments – truck, parcel post, UPS, domestic and export
Originate freight bills and bills of lading
Maintain, publish and enter receiving information into ASI system against POs
Count and check material received in MRO, sort and distribute to bins, containers or storage areas; assign locations for stock; fill material requisitions promptly and accurately; detect defective material; report shortages or low stock
Receive products from receiving or production departments, verify product and quantity and locations
Pull products from handwritten tickets, verify product and quantity and deliver to production departments or shipping
May process Kanban tickets reporting production and consumption
Maintain internal major/minor locations in the database for plant locations
Flexibility to work in MRO, Shipping Receiving or Cycle Count functions
Total responsibility to eliminate non-conformance within quality of products
Machines, tools and equipment used: Counting scales (manual and electronic), UPS meter, postage meter, LP and electronic power equipment, computer terminal
Materials used: Cartons, cardboard boxes, shrink-wrap, packing materials, tape, labels
Qualifications Education:
High school degree or GED preferred
Experience:
Minimum 3 years manufacturing and/or logistics experience
Must have forklift experience and data entry experience. Must have formal inventory control systems experience
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Basic reading and writing skills in English
Math skills
Good computer skills
Knowledge of ASI System, Matrix and NCR Database preferred
Good communications and interpersonal skills
Able to lift up to 40 lbs
Able to stand the majority of the work day
Able to perform repetitive job functions; hand mobility, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
Manual dexterity required for assembly and operating tools and machines
Ability to safely operate moving equipment properly without risk to self, others and equipment
