Summary
The Jr. Staff Accountant will support multiple entities under the direction of the Accounting Manager. This role will engage in a variety of accounting tasks to support financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in handling a high volume of transactions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Client Billing Support: Work with project controls to issue accurate and timely billing to clients. Accounts Receivable Collections: Manage the collections process, ensuring timely payments from clients. Bank Deposits: Handle bank deposits as required. A/R Deposit Application: Apply deposits to A/R accurately and promptly. Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank statements to ensure accurate financial reporting. Accounts Payable Support: Analyze incoming supplier invoices for three-part match and administer the approval workflow. A/P Payment Application: Apply supplier payments to A/P accurately and promptly. Credit Card Expense Reconciliation: Verify all monthly transactions for accounting and policy compliance. Prepare journal entries for revenue, expenses, and intercompany transactions. Perform account reconciliations and maintain roll forward schedules for key balance sheet accounts. Support the month-end and year-end close process. Perform contract reconciliations between client agreements, project records, and financial results. Assist with management reporting, providing clear summaries of project performance and key variances. Collaborate with operations and project management teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and revenue recognition. Ad-hoc Projects: Undertake additional projects as needed. All other duties as assigned Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting. Intermediate level proficiency with MS Excel required, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and SUMIFS. Skills must be demonstrable and will be tested. 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred (internship or full-time). Working knowledge of AI research and vibe coding tools preferred. Knowledge of SQL and/or python a plus. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Capability to handle a high volume of transactions efficiently.
