This role is a full‑time, entry‑level position based in Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design of bridge, culvert, and retaining wall structures, applying AASHTO, IDOT, ISTHA, and AREMA standards.
Prepare structural plans, specifications, cost estimates, and permit applications for private and public projects.
Coordinate project activities, maintain documentation, and collaborate with coworkers, vendors, and clients.
Learn and grow under the guidance of senior structural engineers, developing professional knowledge and decision‑making skills.
Contribute to a high‑energy, collaborative team environment and actively participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis; Master’s degree preferred.
0‑4 years of experience in transportation structural projects, with knowledge of bridge superstructure, substructure, foundations, retaining walls, and culverts.
Strong problem‑solving, research, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MicroStation, and/or AutoCAD.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities; comfortable working independently or collaboratively.
