Overview

Quality Control Supervisor at Kelvion. Responsible for overseeing the Quality Control Department in all aspects i.e., supervisory, quality, maintenance, accountability, etc. Tests and inspects products at various stages of production and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. What you will be responsible for

On-the-floor supervision and hands-on involvement with material/product (approximately 80% on the floor, 20% in the office). Maintain department housekeeping and a positive team atmosphere. Train all quality inspectors; provide leadership by example to the departmental team. Plan, assign, direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, and address/resolve complaints as directed by the Quality Manager. Carry out inspection and testing activities in accordance with established quality plans, engineering specifications, and procedures. Perform dimensional and visual inspections and/or testing to determine compliance; record results clearly indicating pass/fail against established criteria. Handle nonconforming product in accordance with work instructions and quality system procedures. Read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications; possess working knowledge of welding codes and standards; working knowledge of NDE and powder coating. Use a variety of precision and non-precision inspection and test equipment; interface with Manufacturing and Engineering to interpret and define product quality criteria. Comfort with operating overhead or jib cranes if required; maintain regular attendance and punctuality; work on-site and, if needed, overtime. Collaborate with others, communicate respectfully with customers, vendors, and colleagues; manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Competency or Position Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and procedure manuals in English; ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations. Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percent calculation, and ability to interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense and solve problems involving several variables in standardized situations. Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED. Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Quality Control Supervisor; calibration of inspection and test equipment preferred; ISO 9001 environment experience preferred. Non-Destructive Testing Certification preferred.
