Responsibilities

Perform in-process and final inspections of electro-mechanical assemblies, including mechanical assemblies, piping, brackets and wiring, lighting, boxes, etc.

Carry out inspection activities in accordance with established quality plans, engineering specifications and procedures to verify product conformance.

Read, interpret and apply Engineering drawings and Customer specifications; use a tape measure and other inspection tools as required.

Perform incoming, in-process and final dimensional and visual inspections of materials and assemblies; record results electronically as evidence of inspection outcomes (accepted or rejected).

Handle nonconforming product in accordance with established work instructions and quality system procedures.

Work closely with Manufacturing to ensure full compliance with Engineering requirements.

Demonstrate punctual attendance and the ability to work on-site, including overtime when required.

Ability to work cooperatively with others and communicate professionally with colleagues, customers, vendors, and management.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively within the department.

Mag Particle Inspection, while not required, is a preferred qualification.

Competency and Position Requirements

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English and present information in one-on-one or small group settings.

Basic numerical skills: ability to perform simple arithmetic, units of measure, percentages, and to interpret basic graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, and routine database activity are preferred.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED. Calibration experience with inspection and test equipment is preferred.

Experience in an ISO 9001 environment is preferred.

Non-Destructive Testing Certification is preferred.

Ultrasonic Testing Inspector with prior Level II experience is preferred.
