Position Information Location: UNC Asheville, Western North Carolina Position Type: EHRA Staff Job Title: Project Director for Office for Violence Against Women (OVW) Campus Grant Position Number: 000600 Recruitment Range: $58,000-$61,000 Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (some evenings, weekends, and overnight travel as required) Full‑Time / Part‑Time: Full‑Time Months Per Year: 12 Reporting To: Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Salary: Exempt
Position Summary The Project Director will manage the Department of Justice Office of Violence Against Women (OVW) Grant to reduce sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking on campus. Responsibilities include serving as the main point of contact for the OVW Grant, overseeing implementation of grant programs and activities, preparing grant reports and assessments, handling OVW correspondences, and managing the grant budget. The Director will coordinate all grant-related activities, build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, track progress toward project completion, and ensure compliance with statutory and program requirements. This position is contingent upon funding ending on September 30, 2028.
Required Education / Experience / Skills
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
One (1) to two (2) years of progressively responsible work experience in prevention and response in the areas of sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking.
Experience working in higher education.
Preferred Education / Experience / Skills
Master’s degree in a related field.
Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience with victim services and/or related programs, including sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking prevention projects.
Knowledge of the Department of Justice – Violence Against Women (OVW) Grants/Program.
Experience implementing comprehensive policies and protocols for OVW grant projects within a college or university setting.
Knowledge of Title IX, VAWA, Clery Act, and other related federal and state statutes concerning sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking prevention projects.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Collaborative, respectful, and collegial disposition.
Accountability and cultural intelligence to serve a diverse community.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, neutrality, and ethical standards.
Skill to manage a heavy workload, meet deadlines with little oversight.
Experience in grant reporting and data compilation.
Trauma‑informed practice and strong alliance-building abilities.
