Business Development Manager

ECS's Environmental team is seeking a Business Development Manager to support the pursuit of large-scale remediation projects.
Responsibilities
Work directly with the Director of Environmental Services, Principals, engineering staff, and both current and prospective clients to implement business development strategies.
Prepare and develop technical proposals and cost estimates under the direction of technical staff.
Coordinate with the Marketing Department to track and prepare RFP proposal responses.
Review local office proposal activity to identify cross-selling opportunities.
Attend industry associations, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential clients.
Maintain and update project sheets, resumes, and client databases.
Review project specifications and prepare preliminary cost estimates for remediation systems, treatment design, tank removal, and other ECS remediation services.
Collaborate with project managers and technical staff to ensure estimates reflect accurate scope and approach.
Support development of pricing strategies that align with project requirements.
Monitor bid sites and market intelligence for remediation opportunities.
Coordinate internally with service line leaders and project managers to qualify and prioritize pursuits.
Assist in maintaining client and project databases for business development tracking.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
Three or more years of experience in environmental consulting, remediation estimating, or proposal development.
Familiarity with price estimating, proposal preparation, lead generation, and bid site search optimization.
Strong technical writing and editing skills.
Ability to interpret specifications and translate them into actionable proposal and cost documents.
Excellent organizational and project management skills; proven ability to juggle multiple deadlines.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); estimating or proposal software is a plus.
Collaborative team player with strong communication skills across technical and business development staff.
