We’re seeking an experienced Shipping Clerk to work in the Quality Department. The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience as a Shipping Clerk. Responsibilities
Pack and label outgoing shipments to customers request and specifications. Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items for outgoing shipments. Attach shipping labels on packed stencils or cartons; identify shipping information on goods, using stenciling equipment. Gather preassembled containers, wooden containers, or cardboard together. Place items into containers using fillers, spacers and protective padding. Screw covers on containers and wooden crates with metal tape, using a strapping machine. Stencil, stamp or glue shipping instructions and identifying information onto containers or crates. Examine outgoing shipments and ensure they conform with specifications. Verify and keep records on outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment. Notify supervisor of shortages or missing parts. Cycle count inventory items at assigned intervals. Perform necessary computer transactions to maintain inventory. Review and maintain sufficient inventory levels of shipping supplies and order accordingly. Coordinate daily/weekly shipping schedules with Quality Assurance Manager and Master Scheduler. Perform visual inspections and cleaning. Other duties as assigned. Education & Experience
1-2 years of experience preferred. Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Licensed forklift operator. Ability to read, speak and write in English. Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or other status as a U.S. Person). Physical Requirements
Constant standing/walking/sitting for at least 8 hours. Constant pushing, pulling, lifting, bending or carrying up to 50 lbs, minimum 35 lbs. Prolonged periods of repetitive movement are required. Constant holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hands. Constant ascending and descending stairs/ramps/ladders. Constant extending of arms to reach overhead, at shoulder level and below shoulder level. Occasional forklift/hand-truck driving required with use of one leg to control equipment. Work Environment
