Test Technician
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Test Technician to support our engineering team in troubleshooting, testing, and debugging electronic systems. This role involves hands-on work with products and equipment in an onsite environment. Responsibilities include supporting troubleshooting and debugging assignments, conducting testing activities, providing technical information and documentation, interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, soldering and de-soldering PCB components, reporting progress and status of assignments promptly, writing verification and validation protocols, performing tests, and writing V&V reports, and assisting with the design, development, testing, and manufacturing of fixtures, gaging products, and other tools. Essential skills include proficiency in electronics and engineering, strong troubleshooting skills, particularly with PCB and test equipment, experience in electronic system testing, ability to read and interpret PCB schematics and engineering drawings, soldering skills according to IPC J-STD-001 standards, and experience with video interfaces, power supplies, USB interfaces, EMC/EMI, and embedded systems. Additional skills and qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent required, an associate degree preferred, five years of relevant experience required, experience with medical device design requirements preferred, ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical staff, detail-oriented with solid experience in PCB, sub-assembly, and assembly troubleshooting, familiarity with test equipment and ability to read schematics and troubleshoot circuits, and knowledge of electronic and electronic systems manufacturing/test processes. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with software such as Altera, Python, Linux, C#, Altium, Solidworks, and various file viewers is also required. This is an onsite role located in Santa Barbara, CA, requiring hands-on responsibilities with products and equipment. The work environment is collaborative and requires effective communication with cross-functional teams. Employees enjoy 2 weeks of PTO and 6 paid holidays. This is a contract position based out of Goleta, California. The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
