Role Overview The Global Sourcing Specialist II is responsible for the procurement of various commodities used in manufacturing and assembly processes. This role ensures that all procurement meets quality standards, supports production needs, and coordinates the on-time delivery of goods and services. The position requires a strong sense of urgency, project management skills, data analysis capabilities, and the ability to build strong internal and external relationships while working in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Source and procure assigned commodities
Review and understand engineering standards and drawings
Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed
Resolve supplier quality issues and manage returns of defective items
Maintain detailed records of purchases and supplier performance
Prepare reports on inventory status, usage trends, and cost analysis
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers
Manage purchase orders and ensure timely material delivery
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality or delivery issues
Conduct supplier audits and assessments
Analyze inventory data to forecast purchasing needs
Conduct cost analyses to identify savings opportunities
Monitor spending against budget and report variances
Identify process improvements in procurement and supply chain
Participate in cross-functional teams to implement best practices
Travel up to 10%
Other Duties

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and minimum 3 years procurement experience in power generation, OR 8 years procurement experience, OR equivalent combination of education/experience
MBA, ISM, APICS, CSCM, or CPIM certification preferred
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and in teams
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specs, and technical documents
Strong business writing and reporting skills
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, talk, and hear
May be exposed to loud environments
May be required to adhere to safety procedures including PPE (hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, fall protection)
