Role Overview The Global Sourcing Specialist II is responsible for the procurement of various commodities used in manufacturing and assembly processes. This role ensures that all procurement meets quality standards and is available for production needs. The Specialist coordinates on‑time delivery of goods and services, manages all aspects of supplier relations, and demonstrates a sense of urgency, project management ability, data analysis, and relationship building.

Key Responsibilities

Source and procure assigned commodities.

Review and understand engineering standards and drawings.

Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality and delivery speed to ensure cost‑effective purchasing.

Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and return defective items.

Maintain detailed records of purchases and supplier performance.

Prepare reports on inventory status, usage trends and cost analysis.

Negotiate prices, terms and contracts with suppliers to ensure cost‑effective procurement.

Manage purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.

Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality or delivery.

Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company standards.

Analyze inventory data to forecast future purchasing needs.

Conduct cost analyses to identify areas for potential savings.

Monitor spending against budget and report variances to management.

Identify opportunities for process improvements in procurement and supply chain management.

Participate in cross‑functional teams to implement best practices and improve efficiency.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and at least three (3) years of procurement experience in the power generation industry, or eight (8) years of procurement experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education.

Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP.

Travel up to 10%.
