Description
The Mortgage Loan Officer will assist members with their mortgage lending needs by analyzing loan requests and making recommendations to provide member’s with the real estate loan program best suited to their financial needs.
Responsibilities
Provides guidance and recommendations to members on appropriate real estate loan program to suit member needs. The MLO facilitates the mortgage lending process by taking applications, preparing and communicating necessary disclosures, ensuring appropriate documentation and signatures are gathered and that timelines are maintained. Perform in-depth credit analysis and make appropriate recommendations for the approval or denial of mortgage loans. Communicates lending decisions with members. Monitors the lifecycle of a mortgage loan product. Works with Processors, Underwriters, and Servicing Representatives to ensure that each mortgage loan is properly prepared, documented, processed, underwritten, approved/denied, and dispersed in a timely fashion. Maintains a thorough knowledge of mortgage lending guidelines, current trends and market factors affecting mortgage lending, interest rates and how they are computed, and required documentation. Appropriately cross-sells other credit union products and services. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements
One to three years of lending experience is required. Must possess a professional demeanor and the ability to provide exceptional member service with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy. Strong verbal and written communication, and a keen attention to detail are required. Must be able to obtain NMLS license upon employment. Previous mortgage lending experience preferred.
