Summary of Position
The Asset Protection Analyst is a role supporting Shrink improvement for Dollar Tree. The analyst is expected to analyze large data sets to identify fraudulent behavior, irregular activity, training issues and trends impacting the company. The analyst will work to build solutions and recommendations to drive performance improvement and reduce loss.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth analysis using data collected & combined from multiple data sources to provide actionable recommendations for identifying and reducing register fraud.
Deliver reporting and analysis on a weekly & monthly basis related to store transaction data and key performance indicators related to field and store operations.
Develop and deliver effective presentations and reporting solutions for Corporate and Field Asset Protection and Operational leaders.
Identify opportunities and coordinate projects across Asset Protection teams and vendors.
Support ad-hoc data and analysis requests from leadership teams in Asset Protection and Operations departments.
Coordinate with the field Asset Protection team to review exceptions and control shrink.
Monitor and analyze POS transaction data using Exception-Based Reporting systems to identify patterns indicative of theft, fraud, or policy violations.
Develop and refine queries and alerts to enhance the detection of high-risk behaviors.
Collaborate with field Asset Protection teams and executive leadership to validate findings and provide detailed case reports with supporting documentation.
Assist in internal investigations by supplying data-driven insights and transaction histories.
Provide training and guidance to the field team on POS compliance and fraud prevention best practices.
Deliver presentations to teams, executive leaders and sponsors.
Utilize multiple CCTV platforms to validate fraud and other department needs.
Continuously improve all analysis & reporting to fine‑tune action items.
Lead presentations and training sessions for field teams, cross‑functional & department leaders.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (and/or) 3-4 years’ experience in analytical roles.
Strong analytical & problem‑solving skills.
Strong computer skills (Expert Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI).
Experience leveraging business intelligence/query tools.
Great organizational skills including attention to detail and multi‑tasking skills.
Experience leading presentations & training sessions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
