The salary range for this position is $34.50 - $55.20 per hour. Placement within the salary range depends on relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement is guided by the collective bargaining agreement.

Description The
Nurse Clinician
will work in a multidisciplinary environment that requires exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and administrative units. This position will utilize nursing skills to perform patient assessments via phone or in person and implement nursing interventions. The clinician will also initiate and organize patient education for patients served by this unit.
Responsibilities
Maintain a safe and clean work environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and reporting deficiencies.
Provide pre-attending care for patients, performing comprehensive assessments and documenting findings in the medical record.
Perform routine nursing duties, including phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs, lab specimen preparation, and complex specialty procedures such as chemotherapy administration and implantable pump management.
Interpret and respond to abnormalities detected in tests and procedures, documenting all interventions.
Collaborate with other clinical and administrative departments to coordinate appropriate patient care.
Triage and prioritize incoming telephone calls, documenting assessments appropriately.
Manage urgent/emergent medical situations and emergency equipment usage.
Serve as a resource for staff and physicians for daily problem solving, delegating tasks to licensed practical nurses and medical assistants as appropriate.
Ensure compliance with all policy and procedural guidelines for patient care and propose new policies to improve patient experience.
Initiate and coordinate patient education, ensuring patients understand materials and demonstrating return learning when applicable.
Qualifications Required
Associate’s degree in Nursing.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
State Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
Certification in Basic CPR.
At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care environment.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (may be required for certain positions).
