The Behavioral Health Transportation Specialist is responsible for providing safe, high-quality, and customer-focused non-medical transportation and para-transit services to and from medical facilities, under the direction of Valley Health Medical Transport’s dispatch center and the team leader. Responsibilities

Provide safe, high-quality, and customer-focused non-medical transportation and para-transit services to and from medical facilities under the direction of the dispatch center and the team leader. Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience: Prior law enforcement or military experience preferred. Certification & Licensure: Required to satisfy and maintain a valid driver’s license. Medical/Clinical Training: A DOT-equivalent physical examination to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner’s Certification, and mandatory periodic drug screening, as defined by applicable federal, state, and VH policies. Specialized Training (required within 60 days of hire): Crisis Intervention Training (CIT), Trauma Informed Care Training, Suicide and Crisis Intervention Training, Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) – EVOC provided during orientation, AHA BLS CPR and First Aid. Additional Training (within 6 months of hire): 24 hours Unarmed Special Conservator of the Peace (SCOP) training provided by Virginia DCJS. Must be 18 years of age. Experience with handicap aids and wheelchair lift equipment; care/handling of aged/handicapped clients preferred. Must maintain a driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier.
