About the Company
Brembo North America, a world leader and innovator in the design and manufacturing of braking systems and components, is seeking a Raw Materials Buyer for our Cast Iron Foundry, located in Homer, Michigan.
About the Role Responsibilities
Responsible for a group of Raw Materials Sub-Commodities for Iron Foundry (Steel Scrap, Ferroalloys, Carburizers, Inoculants, Premix, Shoot Blasting, Chemicals etc), raw casting and aluminum semi-finished parts;
Working in a cross functional Team with the Foundries Operations, Quality and Logistics;
Responsible to develop, implement and continually improve purchasing strategies on Raw Materials, tools and techniques in order to maximize the company’s results;
Developing world-class suppliers that can bring or jointly develop innovative products and solution in terms of TCO results;
Responsible to develop and design a proper supplier base in Mexico in accordance to the guidelines of the Global Purchasing Manager, in terms of cost competitiveness, quality, service & innovation;
Responsible to closely monitor Raw Materials market trend and develop an in-depth understanding of market dynamics;
Responsible to identify risks and opportunities involved in each sourcing process.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree qualified preferably in Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Business or other relevant discipline.
Out of English, Spanish or another second language is preferred.
Required Skills
In-depth experience of Raw Materials Purchasing, at least 2 years, in a multi-country environment.
Good knowledge and understanding of Ferrous and Non Ferrous raw materials market.
Practical experience in buying Raw Materials within a Foundry.
Knowledge of hedging techniques.
Ability to work in a truly global organization.
Proven experience of working in a fast moving and result driven environment which demands to work under pressure most of the time.

Entrepreneurial skills in terms of innovation and problem solving.
Tenacity, tough-mindedness.
Ability to demonstrate strong commitment and team working abilities.
Strong level of autonomy.
