$60,406.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr Hamilton College is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Prospect Development Analyst to join our Advancement Information Systems team. This role will be instrumental in supporting the organization's fundraising efforts by identifying, researching, and analyzing potential donors. Additionally, the Prospect Development Analyst will track donor progress through defined stages (moves management), maintaining fundraising metrics to optimize cultivation efforts. Responsibilities Prospect Identification & Research Proactively identify potential major donors through meticulous research, data mining, and wealth screenings tools. Conduct in-depth biographical, financial, and philanthropic research to assess donor capacity, inclination, and affinity. Prepare comprehensive research reports, detailed donor briefings, and concise executive summaries for leadership and frontline fundraisers. Monitor news alerts, financial filings, business publications, and other relevant sources to identify emerging philanthropic trends and potential new prospects. Support prospect assignment and track donor pipeline progress by conducting regular portfolio reviews with frontline fundraisers. Provide data-driven insights to optimize fundraiser portfolios, enhance engagement strategies, and assist with fundraising metrics. Ensure strategic prospect movement through the donor lifecycle, from identification to stewardship. Maintain accurate and consistent prospect data within Salesforce. Qualifications & Experience Required: Bachelor's degree required 3-5 years of experience in prospect research and management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare detailed, analytical profiles and communicate findings effectively; very high attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to use standard prospect research resources (including but not limited to online databases, SEC documents, wealth screening tools, private company valuation tools, search engines, etc.). Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities. Ability to work independently, use initiative and sound judgment, and work collaboratively within a team. Professionalism and discretion in handling confidential donor and prospect information. Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and improvement. Preferred: Experience working in a higher education fundraising environment. Strong sense of curiosity and critical thinking. Familiarity with fundraising CRM
