Duties & Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for assisting customers by phone and email with immigration issues and verifying legal presence in the United States. It will investigate possible fraudulent activities regarding immigration documents used to obtain a drivers license or identification card, update sanctions to driver records, and make final determinations for issuances based on legal presence. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to recognize, analyze, and research trends and patterns Skill in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite of programs Ability to conduct fact-finding research and collect data Knowledge of and the ability to understand, apply, and interpret applicable laws, rules, regulations, program policies, and procedures related to driver licenses and registrations Able to effectively and efficiently deal with customers from varied backgrounds in stressful public contact situations in a tactful and courteous manner Skill in preparing correspondence, memos, and reports Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others Ability to organize and handle multiple priorities and assignments Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
Using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Using Florida Real-time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS) and Online Registration and Identity Operating Network (ORION) Reviewing and/or evaluating driver license records Acting as a team lead Reviewing documents for accuracy Skill in reviewing and/or processing immigration documents
General Information
The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview. Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBIs Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI. FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
