Classified Cyber Security Intern
Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) business, the leading provider and pioneer for exceptional weapon systems, sensors, and services is seeking a Classified Cyber Security Intern to join the security team in Dallas, TX. Major duties pertain to, but are not limited to, information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) as part of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) directive, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM). The candidate will be responsible for applying cyber security principles to some of our most critical systems and networks. A sampling of duties includes threat hunting, scanning systems to reveal vulnerabilities, installing antivirus definitions to help protect systems from virus threats, securing a new classified computer systems, documenting configuration changes, and continuous monitoring of all RMF controls. Additionally, the candidate must be able to effectively interface with numerous security agencies and customers, taking direction from more senior team members and management, and making decisions on how new technologies will impact security. The ideal candidate should be able to communicate effectively, have excellent organizational skills, solve technical problems, and be able to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment. The candidate will be responsible for system security, testing and system accreditation activities, and continuous monitoring. The candidate will develop and implement government-approved information security procedures and plans for the operation of multiple networked and/or standalone classified computers, and coordinate government agency approvals. The candidate will conduct or oversee self-inspections and will maintain minimum compliance with the RMF, NISPOM, DAAPM, corporate directives, pertinent DoD Information Assurance (IA)/Cyber instructions, and other government contractual security commitments. Basic Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology (IT), Information Assurance, or similar majors. Knowledge of supporting cybersecurity activities such as security event review, security education/training, hardware/software STIG application, management of RMF documentation, etc. Knowledge of configuring security settings on Windows/ Linux/ UNIX operating systems. Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and the Assessment and Authorization processes. Knowledge of or experience implementing Cyber Security principles such as experiences with hackathons and writing code using industry best practices. Knowledge of or experience working with secure information systems. Understanding of network and encryption concepts.
