Development Operations Administrator
The Development Operations (DevOps) Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, and efficiency of enterprise software systems and infrastructure. This position bridges development and operations by managing system deployments, automating workflows, monitoring environments, and supporting both on-premise and cloud-based resources. The role supports continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) processes, infrastructure automation, and secure systems administration, while collaborating with developers, system administrators, and stakeholders to deliver reliable IT services. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 50% - DevOps Practices & Automation Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application deployment. Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. Develop and maintain system and process documentation. Ensure compliance with IT policies Work with development teams to integrate applications with infrastructure. Provide technical support for critical issues, including on-call rotation when necessary. 40% - System Administration & Infrastructure Management Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows, Linux, Hyper-V) and storage systems. Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high system availability. Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies. Automate provisioning, scaling, and monitoring of cloud resources. Manage virtualization platform Hyper-V with a focus on efficiency and security. 10% - Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education Level: Bachelor's degree Degree Substitute: LSU values skills, experience, and expertise. Years of Experience: 1 Specific Experience: Proficiency in Linux/Windows server administration. Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud). Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash). Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps). Experience with Version Control software (Github, Azure Repos, BitBucket) Experience deploying applications to testing and production environments and a good understanding of the general software deployment process. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education Level: Bachelor's degree Years of Experience: 2-4 years Specific Experience: In addition to minimum qualifications, experience with enterprise backup and recovery (e.g., VEEAM).
