Job Title
IT Administrator
Job Summary The IT Administrator plays a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of the organization’s technology systems and applications. This role focuses on advanced troubleshooting, strategic oversight, and leadership in enhancing system performance, configuring software or system components, and supporting end‑users. The administrator collaborates with cross‑functional teams to develop or enhance system capabilities, drive process efficiencies, and ensure compliance with organizational standards and policies. As a versatile contributor, the administrator may specialize in one or more platforms such as infrastructure, Salesforce, or SharePoint while maintaining a working knowledge of the relevant administrative tools and technologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Administer, configure, and maintain core enterprise platforms (e.g., infrastructure systems, Salesforce, SharePoint) to ensure optimal performance, security, and user access aligned with business goals.
Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for user‑reported issues across platforms; diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve problems in a timely and customer‑focused manner.
Perform regular system health checks, audits, data backups, and performance monitoring; proactively identify and address performance or security issues to maintain uptime and compliance.
Manage user provisioning, role‑based access controls, and permissions in accordance with enterprise security policies and data privacy standards.
Work closely with functional teams such as Loan Servicing, Originations, Dealer Services, and Compliance to understand requirements and implement technology solutions that improve operational efficiency.
Maintain clear documentation of configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
Identify opportunities to streamline and automate administrative tasks and workflows to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
Support users across the organization on system features and best practices; contribute to a shared knowledge base.
Assist in ensuring systems adhere to financial regulatory standards such as SOX, PCI‑DSS, and data privacy laws, in coordination with Risk, Audit, and Compliance teams.
System Management & Maintenance
Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy).
Manage virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper‑V, Nutanix) and containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes).
Perform routine system monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery (Veeam, Commvault, Azure Backup).
Apply OS and application patches, updates, and security hardening (WSUS, SCCM, Ansible).
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network‑related issues (performance tuning, log analysis).
Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure
Administer cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) – VM provisioning, storage, IAM, and cost optimization.
Implement hybrid identity solutions (Azure AD Connect, Okta, SSO).
Automate deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation).
Security & Compliance
Enforce security policies, antivirus, and endpoint protection (Defender, CrowdStrike).
Ensure compliance with IT standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
Monitor and respond to security alerts and vulnerabilities.
User Support & Documentation
Provide L2/L3 technical support for escalated IT issues.
Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
Train end‑users and junior staff on best practices.
Competencies
Customer Service – Respond promptly to customer needs and meet commitments.
Education and/or Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in STEM, business, or related field. Professional experience may substitute.
Experience: 1–3+ years in a technology discipline or business‑related role.
Experience in system implementation, user administration, configuration, and access control.
Prior experience in Financial Services or Auto Lending is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to system documentation, training materials, or knowledge bases.
Certifications relevant to the role are a plus (e.g., Microsoft Certified AZ‑104, MS‑102, RHCSA, AWS SysOps).
Skills Required
Entry to intermediate knowledge of a specific field or discipline and an understanding of how the practice is applied for the technical admin role.
Ability to configure, administer, and maintain enterprise platforms, including workflows, access controls, and integrations.
