AmeriCorps Educate Alabama AmeriCorps members serve in Tuscaloosa or Talladega counties in order to improve the lives of K-12 students within area schools. Members focus on creating and implementing out of school activities and summer enrichment opportunities for students.

Member Duties :
Serve as a group leader in After School Programs and Summer Programs. Mentor for students Assist in daily schedule and activities. Assist in tutoring and homework help. Assist in providing youth development activities. Assist in implementation of the Why Try Program and offer developmentally appropriate activities and outreach for parents . Serve as a group leader providing mentoring and support to students working toward their GED, including WhyTry program. Participate in local, state, and national community service activities.
