Machine Build Technician

VulcanForms Inc. seeks a Machine Build Technician for our Devens, MA, location. As a Machine Build Technician at VulcanForms Inc., Devens, MA, you will have the unique opportunity to work on industrial-scale metal additive manufacturing (AM) machines. VulcanForms Inc. is a manufacturer of complex, high value engineered components in serial production at the world's most powerful additive foundry. Responsibilities include mechanical assembly, electrical panel wiring, field wiring, troubleshooting, and industrial automated equipment machine integration. This position operates in an assembly shop floor environment. Employees in this role are potentially exposed to moving mechanical parts and loud environments. Key Responsibilities

Assemble 3d printing systems, 3d printing post process systems and fiber laser systems. Interface and assist with the project team (i.e., Lead Engineers, Project Manager, Mechanical Engineers, Controls Engineer, Assemblers). Provide status updates to management on assigned projects. Build and wire electrical panels, with direction from engineers. Perform testing and evaluations on components, machines and equipment. Assist with installation of equipment and machines in production. Reading mechanical blueprints to perform assembly duties. Adhere to and support Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures. Qualifications

3+ years of job-related experience, preferably in a machine-building department, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Experience with electro-mechanical and pneumatics assemblies. Familiarity working with high-power fiber optics and laser amplifier assembly methods. Ability to splice fiber optics. Preferred

4+ years of experience building automated equipment. Ability to read/understand mechanical drawings and schematics. Ability to read/understand pneumatic drawings and schematics. Ability to read/understand electrical drawings and schematics. High precision, close tolerance proficiency. Ability to use all hand tools. Experience with the electronics assembly techniques: wiring, crimping, soldering, ESD protection. Aware of design tools and techniques. Proficient in standard and metric systems. The hourly pay range for this position varies by level; final level and compensation will be determined based on a candidates experience. Level 1: $24.72 $30.90 Level 2: $28.12 $35.15 Level 3: $32.60 $40.75
