Inventory Specialist at Walgreens Base pay range: $17.00/hr - $19.00/hr This range is provided by Walgreens. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. Responsibilities

Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including both front end and pharmacy. Support pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns. Champion On-Shelf Availability and manage receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and all in-store inventory processes. Validate and ensure accuracy of planograms. Review and coordinate the proper use of reports and system applications affecting front end and pharmacy on-hand balances and pricing. Execute and maintain front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, and file claims for warehouse and vendor overages (merchandise received, but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed, but not received), order errors, or damaged goods including prescription drugs. Open and close the store in designated locations as required, including system start-ups, cash handling and cashier responsibilities, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day. Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance; as leader on duty, resolve customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Model and share customer service best practices to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits. Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, including creating, reviewing, and receiving orders; scan deliveries and manage on-hand accuracy, including vendor/DSD activities and pharmacy postings as supervised by the pharmacist-in-charge. Complete On-Shelf Availability end-to-end processes for planogrammed departments, including disposals, call-ins, vendor returns, and scan outs; assist with pharmacy recalls and related inventory tasks under pharmacist supervision. Perform pricing activities, including price changes, markdowns, and ensuring accurate signage and compliance with regulatory pricing tasks. Support front end and pharmacy ordering by managing expense items, monitoring for excess orders, and maintaining consigned inventory. Maintain accurate inventory counts across all areas and ensure compliance with state and local laws for regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco). Assist in inventory record maintenance, including receiving and posting products in inventory systems and organizing invoices/receipts/return authorizations. Prepare for physical inventory and support inventory day activities, including coordinating with third-party teams on inventory. Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised; be knowledgeable of store systems and equipment. Assist and coach team members on package delivery activities, sample pickup programs, and returns processing at Walgreens. In designated stores, act as leader on duty for POS-related tasks, including record-keeping of scanning errors, price verifications, and customer refunds, and handling cash duties as requested. Comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers; perform additional tasks as assigned. Training & Personal Development

Attend company-based trainings and complete all required e-learning modules including safety training. Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state. Qualifications

Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal) or one year of prior retail work experience (external). Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. For internal candidates: “Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months. Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multitask and resolve operational issues. Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate. Prior Walgreens experience with an evaluation on file.
