Dean Of Academic Progress
The Dean of Academic Progress ensures student academic success by managing enrollment, transcripts, and compliance with ALSDE policies, while leading college and career readiness initiatives and Dual Enrollment programs. This role oversees data accuracy in PowerSchool (SIS), monitors academic interventions, and coordinates partnerships with postsecondary institutions to support student achievement. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Process student enrollment, withdrawals, and transfers, ensuring ALSDE-compliant records in PowerSchool (SIS) Maintain and audit digital course records, teacher gradebooks, and attendance tracking systems Administer state/district testing and oversee transcript verification (including Dual Enrollment credits) Serve as the school's PowerSchool expert, training staff on SIS protocols and troubleshooting discrepancies. Develop individualized graduation plans (Flight Plans) aligned with ALSDE requirements Monitor at-risk students (failing courses, attendance issues) and coordinate interventions Collaborate with teachers/advisors to implement credit recovery and academic support programs Organize parent workshops on academic transitions, Dual Enrollment, and college readiness Act as primary liaison for Dual Enrollment programs, managing partnerships with colleges/universities Guide students through Dual Enrollment applications, course selection, and credit transfers Host informational sessions for families on postsecondary opportunities and financial aid Ensure compliance with ALSDE Dual Enrollment policies and CTE pathways Lead Career Coach Program initiatives, including job shadows, industry visits, and campus tours Deliver classroom presentations on CTE pathways, career assessments, and workforce trends Maintain databases tracking student participation in career readiness programs Train staff on academic policies, SIS use, and data-driven interventions Partner with counselors and administrators to optimize master schedules and course offerings Represent the school at ALSDE compliance reviews and postsecondary partnership meetings Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in education, Counseling, or related field (master's preferred) Experience: 3+ years in academic advising, records management, or college/career readiness Proficiency with PowerSchool and ALSDE reporting requirements Experience coordinating Dual Enrollment or CTE programs (preferred) Skills: Exceptional data management and organizational abilities Knowledge of ALSDE graduation requirements and alternate pathways Strong presentation and interpersonal skills for stakeholder collaboration Additional Requirements:
Ability to interpret and apply complex education policies Willingness to work flexible hours for parent events/college visits Physical capacity to lift 15 lbs. and move between classrooms/offices Additional Information:
