The Air Defense Ground Equipment Mechanical Design Department focuses on the mechanical design, development, and integration of critical defense platform systems, including radar and communications shelters, electronic subsystems, launchers, hardware integration, and system interconnects. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Ground Equipment Design Team. The right candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, mechanical hardware design experience, and skills in system integration, complemented by a strong background in program execution and production support. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and document components and systems for defense equipment, ensuring alignment with system requirements. Lead small to mid-sized cross-functional engineering teams through all project phases, from proposals to production. Act as the technical liaison for mechanical and cross-functional teams in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment. Support product integration with domestic and international suppliers. Collaborate across engineering and non-engineering teams to tackle technical challenges and create effective design solutions. Work autonomously while ensuring adherence to schedules, costs, and technical commitments. Participate in design reviews and conduct trade studies for informed decision-making. Utilize mechanical engineering knowledge to solve problems in a fast-paced, team-driven setting. Mentor junior engineers, encouraging knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team. Required Skills: A minimum of 8 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, including at least 3 years in the design and development of mechanical equipment, preferably within military or defense contexts. Proven experience throughout all project stages: concept development, detailed design, production transition, and sustainment. Strong mechanical design and manufacturing process expertise. Proficiency in CAD tools, particularly Pro/ENGINEER (ProE) and CREO, focusing on large assembly management. Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems, including part structures and change notices. Demonstrated ability in creative problem-solving. Desired Skills: A Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field. Excellent communication, technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Understanding of Military and Commercial Specifications. Experience in designing and integrating electronic and shelter assemblies, power distribution systems, and troubleshooting electromechanical systems. Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Experience with structural design and analysis, and knowledge of manufacturing systems and electromechanical production environments. Ability to work effectively under pressure and adaptability to evolving assignments. Strong leadership and collaboration skills. Experience in managing engineering risk and contributing to proposal efforts. Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and Estimate at Completion (EAC) practices. Education:

Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field. The salary range for this role is between 101,000 USD and 203,000 USD. The range provided is a good faith estimate based on various factors including role responsibilities, candidate experience, and location.
