Position Summary: James F. Hennessey School is seeking a dedicated Crisis Paraprofessional to support students with special education needs, particularly in grades 9 and 10. This role focuses on the development of the whole child-academically, socially, and emotionally-by implementing individualized supports, behavior interventions, and inclusive practices in both general and specialized classroom settings.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Knowledge of special education practices and behavioral strategies • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism • Capacity to implement behavior modification plans and data tracking • Ability to collaborate with educators, specialists, and families • Understanding of inclusion practices and classroom accommodations • Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills • Organizational and time management skills • Commitment to equity and supporting diverse learners
Qualifications & Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent required • Associate's degree or ParaPro certification preferred • At least one year of experience working with students with disabilities • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred • Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate certifications, if required • Citizenship, residency, or work authorization in the U.S. required

Pay Range • $25.51 - $33.27 per hour
