Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a

Systems Engineer

to provide advanced technical leadership and strategic guidance in support of the

National Enterprise Engineering (NEE)

contract. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the development, integration, and sustainment of high-performance

Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT)

systems that serve the

National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG) , the

Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG) , and other Federal mission partners. As a engineering authority, you will lead multidisciplinary teams across the full systems engineering lifecycle-driving innovation, ensuring mission resilience, and advancing next-generation GEOINT capabilities that directly support national security objectives. Key Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to mid- and junior-level systems engineers throughout the requirements, design, integration, testing, and sustainment phases. Oversee the development and traceability of user requirements, architectures, and operational workflows to enhance performance, automation, and efficiency across enterprise systems.

Architect and evaluate technical solutions that align with mission needs, evolving technologies, and enterprise priorities.

Partner with Government and mission stakeholders to interpret operational needs and translate them into actionable engineering and capability requirements.

Support system architecture development, requirements allocation, and engineering analyses across multiple NSG, ASG, and Federal acquisition programs.

Lead integration, performance optimization, and risk management activities to ensure delivery of resilient and interoperable systems.

Conduct

Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs) ,

Courses of Action (CoAs) , trade studies, and technical assessments to guide strategic decision-making.

Provide enterprise-level technical planning, interface control, and design governance to achieve seamless system and data interoperability across agencies and mission environments.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree or higher in

Systems Engineering,

technical/scientific field or related STEM degree program

OR

12+ years of relevant systems engineering experience in lieu of a degree.

Professional Experience

Minimum

12 years of senior-level

experience in government or industry roles related to: DoD/IC Acquisition Processes

Requirements Development Processes

PPBES (Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System)

Systems Engineering of large, complex Systems of Systems (SoS) or Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)/Cloud environments

Technical Skills

Strong understanding and hands-on experience with the

systems engineering lifecycle

Security Clearance

Active

TS/SCI clearance

or the ability to obtain SCI access and successfully complete a polygraph examination

Preferred Qualifications (Desired)Education

Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related STEM field as listed above

Certifications & Licenses

INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

Technical Expertise

Working knowledge of: Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

tools, processes, and languages

Software Development Frameworks

Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following: Photogrammetry

Remote Sensing

Image Science

Information Sciences

Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Geomatics

Other related geospatial intelligence disciplines

Industry Experience

Documented experience in the

Geospatial Intelligence

field

Demonstrated knowledge of current

NSG (National System for Geospatial-Intelligence) ,

ASG (Allied System for Geospatial Intelligence) , and

NRO (National Reconnaissance Office)

enterprises

Professional Affiliations

Active membership or leadership roles in any of the following organizations: American Congress on Surveying and Mapping ( ACSM )

American Society of Civil Engineers ( ASCE )

American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing ( ASPRS )

Open Geospatial Consortium ( OGC )

Society of American Military Engineers ( SAME )

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
