Purpose and Summary

Lead Maintenance Technician

to oversee second shift operations, serving as the main point of contact for maintenance needs and ensuring that our buildings, equipment, and grounds are always in top condition.

What You'll Do As our Lead Maintenance Technician, you'll be hands-on while guiding a small team of maintenance staff to keep our facilities operating efficiently. Your responsibilities will include the below duties. Essential Duties

Leadership & Coordination - Direct second-shift maintenance workers and serve as the liaison between shifts. Prioritize work orders, coordinate with the Cleaner Supervisor, and ensure the department's needs are met. Boiler & HVAC Maintenance - Ignite, maintain, and inspect boilers; treat boiler water and perform minor repairs. Operate and maintain HVAC systems, including computerized control systems. General Building & Grounds Maintenance - Perform repairs and upkeep inside and outside the facility, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, furniture repair, painting, landscaping, snow and ice removal, and more. Emergency & Preventive Maintenance - Respond to urgent issues and help drive our ongoing preventive maintenance program. Additional Technical Tasks - Perform locksmith work, replace security cameras, maintain vehicles and equipment, handle recycling and refuse transport, and assist with loading/unloading materials. Special Assignments - Includes sanitizing specific areas (such as the morgue) and supporting inspections and compliance efforts. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Post high school courses related to required technical skills or three years related experience. Comprehends the principles of plumbing, electricity, carpentry, boilers, refrigeration cooling, painting and mechanics. Familiarity with Federal, State and Industrial codes. Valid driver's license. Understands and effectively carries out oral and written instructions. Ability to utilize computers for preventative maintenance and work orders, HVAC controls, payroll and email systems. Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role involves both indoor and outdoor work across all seasons, including exposure to varying temperatures, noise, fumes, and mechanical equipment. You'll be expected to: Stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds. Work occasionally in confined spaces or at heights. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Operate tools, vehicles, and equipment safely and efficiently.
