About the Role
Hunter Foundry is urgently seeking a hands-on, solutions-driven
Lead Mechanical Assembly Engineer
with deep expertise in
pneumatic and hydraulic systems
. As we upgrade our equipment and deliver custom-built solutions—like our recent conveyor and multicast pusher—we need a leader who thrives in fast-paced, build-on-the-fly environments.
This role requires
strong floor support
and an understanding that
initial designs may not be perfect
. You’ll be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate across teams, and guide builds from concept to completion—often without the luxury of prototyping.
Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical assembly of custom industrial equipment from concept to deployment
Interpret and adapt engineering drawings in real time
Integrate and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Provide hands-on support on the shop floor during live builds
Collaborate with design, electrical, and controls teams to ensure seamless integration
Identify and resolve mechanical issues quickly and effectively
Mentor junior technicians and promote a culture of continuous improvement
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years in mechanical assembly, with leadership experience
Strong hands-on experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Proven ability to work without prototypes and adapt on the fly
Familiarity with conveyor systems, pushers, or similar machinery
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and fluid schematics
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
