What you'll do
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated
Electrical
Field Technician
to support the maintenance and operation of our electrical infrastructure products in the Houston area. In this role, you'll work hands-on with critical electrical and instrumentation systems that power high-demand infrastructure. You'll be on the front lines ensuring performance, reliability, and uptime for our clients' facilities-while solving problems, building systems, and contributing to the growth of a rapidly scaling energy and data center company.
Where you'll work
This role will be based in our Houston office. You must be willing to work in the field full-time, with some travel required depending on project needs.
Responsibilities Install, integrate, and maintain process instrumentation equipment, including gauges, switches, controllers, transmitters, and fuses. Install new control circuits and modify existing electrical systems, including design, load, and implementation of new logic. Troubleshoot VFDs, soft starters, breakers, relays, contractors and instrumentation devices such as pressure/temperature transmitters, level and pressure switches, and limit switches. Conduct field failure analysis to determine if issues are process-driven or due to failed equipment.. Perform proper terminations of all I/O components and instrumentation, ensuring correct labeling per specifications. Troubleshoot and maintain fluid transfer systems, including pumps, piping, and valves (sometimes with limited documentation). Assist clients with commissioning air-cooled and liquid-cooled modular data centers. Requirements
5+ years of experience in electrical maintenance or a related field. This role will require national travel up to 75% 480V and 3-phase experience Strong knowledge of electrical principles, practices, and regulations. Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings, relay logic diagrams, PLC programs, and motor control circuit diagrams. Hands-on experience with VFDs, soft starters, and instrumentation devices (pressure/temperature transmitters, level/pressure/limit switches, etc.). Strong understanding of process instrumentation equipment including gauges, switches, controllers, transmitters, and thermocouples. Proficiency in using calibration instruments and tooling. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a customer-focused and professional approach. Ability to travel with minimal notice. Bonus points
Experience in system controls or mission-critical infrastructure. Knowledge of bitcoin mining operations or the cryptocurrency industry. OSHA certification or other safety training credentials. Experience making terminations for LV 480V cables. Benefits
