JOB SUMMARY The Senior Accountant is in charge of overseeing and supervising the group’s accounting operations in the US, ensuring efficiency and smooth workflow. The responsibilities of a Senior Accountant revolve around preparing financial reports and presentations, managing schedules and guidelines. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Coordinates, administers, and controls the group’s accounting operations in the US. Assists in processing invoices for payment, cash receipts, and credit card reconciliations. Reviews accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll and journal vouchers. Reviews and approves payroll. Manages monthly general ledger activity in order to produce a timely, efficient, and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting. Analyzes/reconciles balance sheet and key P&L accounts periodically. Prepares and analyzes financial statements and reports on variances on a monthly basis. Develops and implements internal controls, and policies and procedures. Ensures accurate and timely dissemination of financial information; provides financial reports and analysis to programs and operations staff as requested. Manages tax and regulatory filings. Manages annual audit and tax returns preparation. Interacts at all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders. Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes. As a manager, it is essential to lead and encourage the direct reports, all while implementing the company's policies and regulations. OTHER DUTIES Participate in strategic financial projects including, but not limited to, the implementation of ERP software (SAP S4HANA). Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting and at least five years of related experience in a business office setting performing accounting duties or a commensurate combination of education and experience. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), professional service accounting, and financial reporting. Knowledge of cloud QuickBooks and / or SAP S4HANA is a strong plus. Wine and spirits industry experience is a strong plus. Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Meet) experience is a plus. Language Skills – verbal and written communications skills in Spanish is a plus.
