The
Senior Accountant
plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting and accounting operations. This position is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounting process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, month‑end close, and financial analysis, while maintaining compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The Senior Accountant collaborates closely with finance leadership and cross‑functional teams to support business objectives, streamline processes, and provide insights that drive informed decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle general ledger accounting, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
Perform variance analysis and provide commentary on financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules, intercompany transactions, and multi‑entity consolidations.
Support audits by preparing documentation, schedules, and responding to auditor inquiries.
Review and improve accounting procedures to strengthen internal controls and increase efficiency.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial reporting as requested by management.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (AP, AR, payroll, FP&A, operations) to ensure consistent financial data integrity.
Utilize ERP and reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, Hyperion) to support financial operations and system improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control best practices.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar).
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
