Senior Accountant
Location: Hybrid - New York, NY (preferred) or Remote (US-based) Job Type: Full-Time | Exempt
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is critical in supporting our month-end close process, financial reporting, managing external auditors and the day-to-day operations of a dynamic, fast-paced finance function. You'll collaborate across departments to ensure financial accuracy and support strategic decision-making with timely insights.
This role is ideal for someone who brings a strong background in public accounting and financial services. We're ideally looking for candidates with QuickBooks expertise and strong Excel skills. This individual will have the opportunity to expand their responsibilities and grow alongside a high-growth company.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Reporting Coordinate with controller on managing the components of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP General Accounting
Maintain the general ledger and oversee key accounts (e.g., cash, revenue, fixed assets, accruals) Partner with the Financial Operations team to manage daily and weekly cash movements, ensuring timely funding and accurate reconciliation across accounts Own the annual financial audits in collaboration with the controller Process Improvement
Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems to increase efficiency Help scale accounting infrastructure as the company grows, especially in relation to revenue operations and reporting Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation (preferred) 5-7+ years of relevant accounting experience Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls Familiar with accounting systems (QuickBooks, Ramp and ADP) Prior experience in lending or broader financial services Proven ability to work in a high-growth or rapidly evolving environment Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on experience and location Bonus: Performance-based annual bonus (typically 5-10%) Equity: Eligible for stock options or equity grants Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off, holidays, and sick days Parental leave Professional development stipend
