Overview:

This critical role is essential for supporting the strategic business growth of the portfolio by providing comprehensive accounting oversight and support. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for monthly account balance reconciliations, managing the general ledger, and to assist with the month-end closing procedures for North America. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with a thorough understanding of accounting principles to accurately analyze financial reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Daily accounts receivable, cash and credit card reconciliations Maintain monthly sales allowance trackers Prepare and post monthly sales journal entries Responsible for sales tax compliance, preparing monthly sales tax entries and reporting Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements Support month-end, quarter-end, and year end close processes Ensure accuracy and integrity of general ledger to sub-ledgers and other company systems. Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal control policies Support Accounts Receivable Specialist and review their work for accuracy and completeness Support customer compliance and deduction process Support the credit and collection team with collection efforts during peak season Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits Participate in special projects, including system enhancements and automation initiatives Requirements and skills

Minimum of 5+ years of related experience, including experience in a senior level accounting role Strong systems experience with hands-on experience in modern ERP; Sage and SAP experience a plus BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant program; CPA preferred Thorough knowledge of all accounting procedures In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Familiarity with financial accounting statements Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process Hands-on experience with accounting software packages Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP's and pivot tables Elevated level of accuracy and attention to detail Demonstrated ability to work independently to solve problems and troubleshoot

Physical Requirements:

Work is performed primarily in an office setting. Work activities may include climbing, bending, stooping, and kneeling and may require sitting for extended periods of time and working on a computer keyboard and telephone.
