Overview: We're seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate

Patient Financial Counselor

to join our team in Chicago's vibrant South Loop. This is a

temp-to-hire

opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is passionate about helping patients navigate their financial responsibilities.

Responsibilities: Assist patients with understanding their insurance coverage, billing statements, and payment options

Provide financial counseling and support for patients with outstanding balances or upcoming procedures

Assist patients in applying for Medicaid or charity care options

Gather patient financial data including paystubs and submit documentation for approval

Collaborate with billing and clinical teams to ensure accurate financial information

Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations

Deliver excellent customer service and build trust with patients

Qualifications:

Previous experience in healthcare billing, patient access, or financial counseling preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Familiarity with insurance plans and medical terminology

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and healthcare billing systems

High school diploma or equivalent required

Schedule: Full-time, onsite Monday-Friday
