Provide leadership and technical assistance for school districts in Region 14 serving Career and Technical Education students by assisting in the development of educational programs appropriate for their needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree Preferred Administrative experience preferred Degree with appropriate career and technical certification Knowledge and skills appropriate for meeting program and student needs 5 years of teaching experience including specific duties related to job assignment Knowledge of State and Federal law regarding career and technical education Technology skills to complete job requirements
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES Program Planning/Organizational Skills Update and communicate programmatic goals to concur with state directives and current legislation through the use of emails, memos, on-site visitations, and telephone communications. Utilize all available resources/equipment to produce results in an effective, efficient manner. Operate all programs in accordance with federal, state, and local policies and guidelines. Evaluate and maintain documentation for the extent to which program objectives have been met to determine future direction. Fiscal Management Assist Director by making recommendations for budget preparation. Maintain an accurate record of expenditures. Evaluate the effectiveness of project objectives for future budgetary consideration. Leadership Work to improve the Center for Federal Programs services by developing constructive ideas and actions. Utilize problem-solving and logical thinking skills in making judgment decisions and accepting the consequences of those decisions. Communication Skills Demonstrate good communication techniques and utilizes proper communications with client school districts. Effectively transmits ideas and information to groups or individuals. Provide up-to-date information to local administrators. Consultative and Technical Assistance Design, provide, and/or coordinates appropriate staff development activities within the region; Serve as a liaison between the agency and local education agencies (LEAs) in providing the assistance needed by districts to achieve quality local career and technical education programs, integration of career and technical and foundation education courses, efforts to develop career counseling and guidance activities, teacher certification efforts, and technical assistance to career and technical education student organizations, vertical alignment of secondary, post-secondary and workforce; Coordinate and participate in CTE professional development activities for teachers (especially beginning teachers), administrators, curriculum writers, counselors, and teacher educators; Coordinate activities and services that recruit and prepare individuals for nontraditional training and employment; Provide assistance to LEAs in completing the annual Perkins V: Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act application including follow-up services and training; Attend appropriate TEA-sponsored workshops, training sessions, conferences, etc.; Establish and maintain communication among LEAs, workforce development boards, colleges and universities, and the TEA CTE staff; Design develop, and implement training and activities that promote student enrollment in nontraditional courses; Serve as the Region 14 Results Driven Accountability representative for CTE and assist our districts with RDA reporting and/or visits; Human Relations Exhibit professional courtesy during personal interaction with school district personnel and Region 14 ESC staff. Display an attitude of personal and professional concern in group and individual settings. Specialized Knowledge Seek training in professional areas and provides up-to-date information in areas of responsibility. Recommend and prepares effective in-service and instructional resources for staff and clients. Personal and Professional Image Maintain self-control and good working relations with ESC staff and client district personnel. Exhibit enthusiasm, self-motivation, and physical appearance toward fulfilling job assignment requirements. Adhere to work schedules and attendance policies.
