MoMA Design Store (store.moma.org) is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Project Manager/Product Owner to join our e-commerce team. This role is crucial for driving the successful execution of our e-commerce roadmap, managing projects from initiation through delivery, and championing the user experience and feature set of our online store. The ideal candidate will blend strong project management rigor with a product-centric mindset, ensuring we deliver high-quality, impactful digital solutions that enhance customer engagement and drive sales. The expected duration for this position is six months.

Responsibilities:

Project Management

Project Planning and Execution:

Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders. Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Team Coordination:

Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Operations, Development (internal or external), and Design. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration. Risk and Issue Management:

Proactively identify, track, and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies. Develop mitigation strategies and escalate critical items when necessary. Process Improvement:

Implement and optimize project management processes appropriate for a small team environment, ensuring predictability and transparency Reporting:

Track and report on project progress, key milestones, and metrics to stakeholders and leadership on a regular basis. Vendor Management:

Oversee and coordinate external development resources or agencies when required, ensuring they meet project standards and deadlines. Product Ownership/Strategy

Backlog Management:

Own, groom, and prioritize the product backlog for development sprints, ensuring the team is focused on delivering the highest value features first Roadmap Contribution:

Work closely with leadership to define and maintain a clear, prioritized e-commerce product roadmap based on business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility. Requirements Gathering:

Translate high-level business objectives and user feedback into detailed, actionable product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. User Focus:

Act as the voice of the customer within development projects, championing a seamless and optimized user experience (UX) and customer journey across the e-commerce platform. User Testing:

Ensure releases are properly user tested from start to finish through multiple devices and scenarios. Feedback is gathered from key stakeholders and relayed to appropriate members to address in timely and organized manner Launch and Iteration:

Plan and coordinate product launches. Monitor performance metrics post-launch and lead iterative improvements based on data analysis and customer feedback. Requirements:

A minimum of three years experience in project management, with at least two years focused specifically on e-commerce, digital products, or web development projects. Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, balance competing priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify Plus, Magento, WooCommerce) and key integrations (e.g., ERP, CRM, marketing automation tools). Excellent communication and organization skills/ Preferred

Experience defining product vision, strategy, and roadmaps Familiarity with tools for requirements management and wireframing/prototyping. Strong analytical skills and comfort using data (e.g., Google Analytics, Heap, e-commerce reports) to inform product decisions and project prioritization. Experience writing detailed user stories, managing a product backlog, and defining acceptance criteria.

Assistant Director, Web Merchandising

Salary Range:

Minimum of $40 to maximum of $55 per hour
