The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, established in 1885, consists of 16 branches and one destination camp and employs over 2000 staff - all dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected, and secure children, adults, families and communities. We are currently seeking a Senior Membership Director to serve at our Moody Family YMCA.

Under the direction of the VP of Operations and Associate Executive Director, the Senior Membership Director manages the membership and childwatch departments as well as all membership related experiences & activities within the branch operations in accordance with the purposes & policies of the Association for the Moody Family YMCA. This role also oversees promotional initiatives aimed at attracting new members and is responsible for managing the approved budget. The incumbent will serve as a staff liaison to a Branch Board Committee, play an active leadership role in the branch Annual Campaign; and ensure the Moody Y is represented at all Association Membership Department meetings/events.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain harmonious relationships by promoting and demonstrating caring, honesty, respect and responsibility with staff, YMCA members and program participants and the public.

• Directly responsible for the hiring, training and onboarding of the Membership Service Department and Childwatch Department at the Moody Family YMCA. Ensuring the staffing and scheduling are always operating at full capacity, while the focus is on membership retention, membership satisfaction and membership growth.

• In conjunction with the marketing department, this position is responsible for new sales, corporate partnerships, membership promotions, membership recognition, membership appreciation activities and community events that create a space for our YMCA image and awareness.

• Accountable for management and supervision of the Full-Time Member Experience Director as well as Membership Services staff, Childwatch staff, our Facility attendants, and maintaining a relationship and synergy with all our Program Department Directors.

• This position is responsible for various member and program participant account issues on the front line.

• Overall management and supervision of the Childwatch program, ensuring a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all children as well as implementing and upholding all Childwatch policies related to child supervision, documentation, and emergency procedures.

• Responsibilities with the Annual Campaign.

• Incumbent will implement all YMCA policies and procedures for risk management/ safety for all staff, volunteers and participants.

• Perform all other duties assigned by the VP of Operations and Associate Executive Director or procedures assigned by the Association.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in related field or 5 years customer service/manager experience preferred.

• YUSA Senior Director preferred.

• Formal training in customer service is necessary.

• Experience in supervision, budgeting & program design/management required.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrates sound judgment, autonomy, and emotional intelligence in navigating complex or challenging situations.

• Minimum physical fitness requirements includes the ability to stand, walk, run jump, & train for a period of up to 60 -75 minutes.

• Full upper body range of motion and upper body strength to lift 25 lbs. is essential.

This position has a direct impact on the overall effectiveness with which the branch accomplishes its membership objective and program goals. Ability to contribute to total staff efforts directly impacts the overall success of the branch.

The incumbent will be successful if:

• Recruitment and development of an effective staff and volunteer base results in quality memberships for the youth and families at the Moody YMCA.

• The development and management of the Membership, Child Watch, Facility Attendants, and future program budgets that allows for quality experiences for members in a conservative and responsible manner.
