What you will be doing Provide hardware engineering expertise to analyze complex hardware systems, hardware design, architecture, network design and other technical hardware issues for SIGINT solutions on an OCONUS field support program.
Procure and perform acceptance testing on equipment; provide hardware maintenance support (preventive and remedial).
Deploy, install, and implement hardware at CONUS and OCONUS locations; prepare hardware specifications by analyzing system requirements; conduct site surveys; prepare engineering plans and site technical design packages.
Organize and direct hardware installations; configure and document configuration of computers, networking devices and peripheral equipment; prepare installation and test reports; verify that problems are properly identified and solutions meet user requirements.
Provide input to hardware components of system design (end-user devices, servers, networking devices, data storage devices, and specialized processors).
Requirements
Requires seven (7) years of experience as a Hardware Engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. A bachelor’s degree in Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional Hardware Engineer experience on projects with similar scope, type, and complexity may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Required Capabilities
Prepare functional requirements and specifications for hardware acquisitions.
Analyze hardware specifications and system/subsystem requirements to conceive and document practical designs for hardware components (servers, network devices, transmission media, storage devices, user interface devices, and special processors).
Ensure problems with operational hardware are properly identified and solutions satisfy user requirements.
Assist with preparing installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Conduct site surveys; assess and document current site network configuration and site-unique requirements.
Develop hardware installation schedules based on setup, integration, and test timelines.
Train site personnel in the proper use of hardware; recommend specifications for hardware acquisitions.
Prepare engineering plans and site installation of Technical Design Packages; prepare drawings documenting as-built configuration at each site.
Prepare site installation and test reports; configure computers, communication devices, and peripheral equipment.
Organize and direct hardware installations across multiple sites; design and verify test harnesses/simulated interfaces for test and integration phases.
Analyze and recommend hardware specifications for project-unique or modified commercial hardware; assist with building simulations and provide hardware throughput analyses to systems engineers.
Prepare Mean-Time-Between-Failure and Mean-Time-To-Repair analyses; analyze operational data to identify choke points and failure modes for design or maintainability improvements.
Desired Capabilities
Experience with antenna and antenna subsystems.
Clearance
CLEARANCE REQUIRED: TS/SCI w/ Polygraph (must be fully cleared with the appropriate Polygraph).

Compensation and Benefits
