The New York City Mayor's Office is responsible for overseeing city services throughout the five boroughs, coordinating public agencies and departments, and managing public property. The Adams' administration is leading the fight to serve the people of the greatest city in the world, ensuring delivery of efficient and effective services, working to make New York City's economy stronger, reducing inequality, improving public safety, and making the city more affordable that meets the needs of all New Yorkers. The Mayor's Office of Administrative Services is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Mayor's Office and agencies under City Hall. Our priorities include, but are not limited to, space management, office seating, custodial needs, supply requests, records management, and mailroom and messenger service. Our goal is to ensure offices operate efficiently and effectively throughout the Mayor's Office campuses.
The Problems You'll Solve
- Handling phone calls, emails, and drafting professional correspondence.
- Managing multiple tasks, prioritizing effectively, and maintaining organized records.
- Ensuring accurate labeling, sorting, and delivering mail.
- Tracking packages using FedEx and UPS.
- Writing service tickets as well as keeping track of them.
- Handling and distributing MTA MetroCards.
- Writing property removal passes.
- Handling issues related to mail delivery or processing.
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle urgent or time-sensitive deliveries.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Three Years of experience in community work or community-centered activities.
Preferred Skills
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with colleagues and recipients.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and other relevant office software is essential.
- You have basic computer skills for data entry, tracking, and using relevant software.
- You have to maintain the privacy and security of sensitive information.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
