Job Details: Location : F&M Campus - Lancaster, PA Classification : Full-time, Exempt Schedule : 40 hours, Monday - Friday. Reports to : Vice President & CIO Department : Information Technology Services Approved Annual Salary : $55,800.00 - $60,500.00 Job Description:
The Training and Communications Manager (TCM) serves as a key advocate for campus technology users and acts as an ambassador for ITS. As part of the ITS leadership team, the TCM independently develops and delivers training strategies, creates support materials, and manages outreach for widely used campus software. The role includes providing user support, conducting training needs assessments, producing communications, and representing ITS in college-wide programs like onboarding and summer initiatives. The TCM is also responsible for promoting innovation and enhancing technology services for faculty, staff, and students.
Essential Functions:
As a member of the ITS leadership team, work in partnership with all other members of that team to develop a deep understanding of perceived training and communication needs but equally importantly, drive an agenda to continuously improve this work by holding the leadership accountable for assuring ITS is doing its very best work to continuously inform and facilitate technology skill development in support of the varied work and requirements of the F&M community. Spearhead all ITS initiatives focused on improved efficiencies. This may be at times via project management: facilitating discussions and participating in making changes to workflows within the ITS ticketing system or hands-on efforts such as: working directly with departments on imagining how particular software solutions the College provides could enhance their day to day operations. For example, leveraging advanced Google calendar components to allow people to make appointments through a website or how to transform paper forms and procedures to using electronic forms and eSignatures using Google/Adobe/Qualtrics tools. Oversees and directs the training / documentation program for ITS. Assures the ITS team is providing relevant training and support to campus users, either in person or in the form of online documentation; often providing this support directly. Plays a lead role in ensuring the department's online presence is providing the information campus users expect. As part of the ITS leadership team, may be assigned to do periodic 'field work', be asked to participate in short-term special projects, and be responsible for training. Develop and maintain written documentation and materials and/or coordinate efforts to assure that documentation materials provided by others in ITS are consistent, accurate and easy to use. Prepares, designs and implements regular New Employee Orientation on relevant technology-related topics in conjunction with Human Resources. Regularly shares technology tips with F&M stakeholders (faculty, staff and students.) Conducts formal/classroom training on tools such as: Google Drive / Meet, GMail, Adobe Express, Adobe Sign; widely deployed security tools such as Google 2-Step Verification, etc. Plays a lead role in the oversight and management of the College's portal and intranet. Keep abreast of changing technology generally and its application in the higher education environment specifically. The Training and Applications Manager uses this knowledge and experience to actively identify relevant initiatives for local exploration and possible implementation. All other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and training. At least 4 years of broad technical service experience. Demonstrated experience with workplace survey tools such as google survey or qualtrics, Microsoft Office tools. Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in Google Suite Products (Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Drive) Evidence of a commitment to community and belonging. Successful interview. Successful completion of background checks. Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with ITS services in a Higher Education setting. Prior experience using specific systems: Adobe Creative Cloud applications, AdobeSign, Team Dynamix or other ticketing systems, familiarity with both Windows and Mac operating systems.
